Caoran is Gaelic for ‘wee peat’ harvested for home use from the wild moors of the east side of Uist.
Soap: a large handmade soap enriched with skin-nourishing coconut oil and locally harvested wild thyme, essential oils of rosemary, lemon balm and thyme. Certified, sustainable and ethically-sourced RSPO Palm oil is used in this product which is made in collaboration with The Hebridean Soap Company
Fleece: the hardy black Hebridean plus Scottish blackface and cheviot fleece from sheep raised by island crofters. Yarn over from the local tweed industry adds a touch of colour.
Three colours are available: ‘Rueval’, ‘Eaval’ and ‘Hecla’, named after Uist hills and mountains.
You can turn the woolly case into your own wee ‘pod’ following the instructions on my Facebook page ‘Rebecca Cotton Felt’ in the album ‘molagan and memories: recycle and reuse’ Please post your creations on instagram, #rebeccacottonfelt.
