Handmade brooch/scarf/shawl pin from copper wire and my handmade resin bead, which I have fashioned in a Celtic style. The resin bead has been dyed with alcohol inks in graduated tones of amber and moss greens. The scarf pin brooch has been wire wrapped and beaten to strengthen, then antiqued, burnished and sealed with jewellers wax. Can be used to secure scarves and shawls or just worn as an adornment.
Each scarf pin has been photographed alongside a ruler for measurements.

I have really enjoyed making resin beads with alcohol inks and I’ve become fascinated by the ways the colours play together and I just had to incorporate the beads into a wearable item. I have always loved working with copper, especially seeing how the light changes the colours to chestnut and deep rich copper after oxidisation and buffing.
As I use my sheep’s fleece to make scarves, cowls and shawls it feels natural for me to want to make pins and brooches to adorn them.
