Birthstone for the month of May, Emerald is sometimes referred to as the Stone of Successful Love and is aligned to the Heart Chakra. Worshipped by the Incas, and a favourite of Queen Cleopatra in Egypt, Emerald is a variety of Beryl, and gets that deep green colour from trace amounts of the mineral chromium.
