About us

I was born in Lancashire, but when I was about 10 my parents decided they wanted to move to somewhere a little different, that place was the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. We did move back to Lancashire briefly, but we were back to Lewis by the time I was 15, and I was home!

I didn’t go straight into my jewellery career at 16, I didn’t really know how to get started in any art career, so I went to college to study admin as there were no art courses in my area at the time. I had a few jobs doing that until I married and started my family and became a stay-at-home mum. However, after raising my children for a few years, I found myself seeking a career that would fit in with my busy home life, one I would be happy doing and one that would satisfy my creative mind.

I decided to go back to college and studied jewellery to a HNC level at Lews castle College. This gave me an outlet for my creative mind but also the skills to work towards self-employment and owning my own business as a jewellery designer and maker.

My work is inspired by the landscape, weather, and buildings of the Hebrides around me. I use textures and gemstones to do this; textures can show the rough cliff edges around the islands along with the rugged moorlands, whilst colours can express the richness of the sea, clearness of the skies, the heather blooming and even the golden sands with a citrine gemstone.

I also enjoy making fashionable pieces for my customers in my own clean and contemporary style. My hope is for all my customers to enjoy my pieces whether it’s a piece representing the Hebrides that they may have visited and love, or to wear it for style purposes.
