About Lewisian Nice
Fàilte! Welcome! If you've landed on this page you want to know a bit more about me . . . .
I'm Sarah, a 30-something from the Isle of Lewis, a wee island off the north west coast of Scotland, and I run Lewisian Nice by myself with occasional help from my lovely family & friends.
I'm always taking steps towards reducing, reusing and recycling, both at home and in my business. Every little thing we can do really does help our planet. With this in mind I'm working towards a more 'slow-fashion' approach to Lewisian Nice than I have done since setting up in 2014. Using as many eco-friendly techniques and materials as possible, I aim to bring you colourful homeware and wearables that are built to last and bring you joy.
I was born in Stornoway and except from a brief stay in Glasgow to attend a University course I didn't finish, I've lived on the island my whole life. There's something about the more relaxed way of island living I just love. Myself, my boyfriend, our two cats and two dogs live in our Victorian town house, which we're slowly renovating.
I love bright colours, nostalgia, MCM and Art Deco styling and have discovered a love for gardening thanks to Covid19! I'm usually found listening to true crime podcasts or rewatching The American Office, Buffy, Bones and Gilmore Girls while creating my products. My Gàidhlig is super rusty but I give it my best when I'm feeling brave enough and like to feature common phrases in my products as a nod to my cultural heritage ❤
