About Ascog Wool

With a history of three generations of family farming on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, Ascog Farm covers an area of 150 acres of permanent and rough pasture including Ascog Hill. The land is well suited to providing yearlong outdoor shelter and grazing for the sheep. The farm is now producing natural undyed yarn reared and sheared from the flocks of Shetland, Cheviot, Herdwick and Texel sheep. The yarn is used to produce hand crafted woven blankets, knitted jumpers, hats, bootees and other items all uniquely designed and created especially to enhance the natural colours and qualities of the wool.
